Abstract
One and 10 mol% Y2O3 and Fe2O3 doped titanium dioxide precursor gels are prepared by sol-gel route. The calcined gels are pelletized and heated in the range 400° to 1000°C. The heated samples are characterized by electrical properties and XRD. Impedance spectra are taken for all the samples in the frequency range 5 Hx to 13 MHx. The impedance spectra reveal that Y2O3 addition inhibits the anatase to rutile transformation proportionately with the increase of concentration, whereas Fe2O3 addition enhances the conversion at lower concentration (1%). These results are supported by XRD.
