Abstract
Polycrystalline samples of Ba2K3DyNb10O30 (hereafter BKDN) has been synthesized by conventional hightemperature solid state reaction technique. Using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, the formation of single phase orthorhombic structure is confirmed. Detailed studies of dielectric constant (epsilon) and loss (tan delta) as a function of frequency (400 Hz-l MHz) and temperature (30°-250°C) reveal that this compound has low dielectric constant and it undergoes diffuse phase transition. DC resistivity (rho) of BKDN is also measured in 30°-340°C range at a constant electric field indicating semiconducting nature at higher temperatures.
