Excimers and their entanglement in double quantum dots

Optical excitation of coupled quantum dots may result in formation of an excimer, a superposition of on-dot excitons and charge-transfer excitons. We set up a simplified model to study the excimer state. Our model is in good agreement with the experiment. We further propose to use the excimers to realize the entanglement in two coupled quantum dots and show the feasibility of this proposal.
