Abstract
An enhancement of the room temperature magnetoresistance ΔR/R0 is induced by the substitution of Cr for Mn with appropriate content x in manganites La0.67Sr0.33Mn1−xCrxO3. A peak of the room temperature magnetoresistance ΔR/R0 occurs at x≈0.15. Such enhancement may be correlated with shifts of Curie temperature and metal–insulator transition temperature to near room temperature through the Cr substitution. The decreasing of ΔR/R0 for larger x may be correlated with the corresponding lower metal–insulator transition temperature far from room temperature.
