  • Abstract
    The volume data of hydrides in the pseudo-binary compounds Zr(MxV1−x)2, Zr(MxCr1−x)2 and Zr(MxMn1−x)2 (M=Fe and Co) have been analyzed. It turned out that the x-dependent volume data of hydrides in the titled compounds can be well fitted to a quadratic equation rather than a linear equation except for Zr(CoxCr1−x)2 and Zr(CoxMn1−x)2, in which x-dependent structural hydrides (hexagonal or cubic) could predominate the volume change of hydrides with x. The volume change of hydrides with x in the pseudo-binary compounds is somewhat discussed, while paying attention to a different substitution effect on the hydride volume between Fe and Co in a series of the pseudo-binary compounds.
