Abstract :
We have observed superconductivity in multiphase samples of the nominal composition YRh4Si2B, Tc∼9 K, and LuRh4Si2B, Tc∼8 K. We also observe a diamagnetic response in ErRh4Si2B. Our results suggest that a new quaternary phase is responsible for superconductivity in the system R–Rh–Si–B (R=Y, Lu, Er).
