Abstract :
Tri(8-hydroquinoline)aluminum (AlQ3) nanowires, nanowalls, complex nanostructure composed of microspheres and nanowires, micro-spherical chains were successfully synthesized by simple physical vapor condensation. The effect of the deposition temperature on the morphologies of AlQ3 has been investigated. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) was used to examine the chemical bonding of products as-prepared. Environmental scanning electronic microscopy (ESEM) was performed to analyze the morphologies of the samples. FT-IR results indicated that the AlQ3 molecules had a strong thermal stability. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra showed that there was no apparent blue shift because the AlQ3 molecules are bonded by relatively weak Van der Waals forces. These different structures depended on the deposition temperatures would be believed to attractive building field-emission devices and other optical devices.
