Abstract :
The polycrystalline sample of Y 3Fe5O12 was prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. A preliminary X-ray structural analysis exhibited the formation of single-phase compound with a tetragonal structure. SEM micrograph of the material shows the uniform distribution of grains throughout the surface of the sample. Detailed studies of dielectric and electrical properties of Y 3Fe5O12, investigated in a wide frequency range (100 Hz–1 MHz) at different temperatures (26–500 ∘C) by complex impedance spectroscopy technique, showed that these properties of the material are strongly dependent on frequency and temperature. A dielectric anomaly was observed at 282 ∘C, which may be related to the magneto-electric response of this material.
