Abstract :
The 2D angular correlation of annihilation radiation experiments were performed to study the electron momentum density and the Fermi surface (FS) of the ordered inter-metallic NiAl. The FS of NiAl was reconstructed by using a Fourier transformation technique followed by the Loucks, Crisp and West (LCW) folding procedures. We found that the FS of NiAl was affected by a strong interaction, which originated from the hybridization of Ni d and Al p states. The general features of this FS were found as an electron surface running along X–M direction and centered on M point, besides two hole surfaces one centered on Γ point and the other centered on R point. The dimensions of the FS showed good agreement to the earlier calculations.
