Abstract
We investigated cathodoluminescent (CL) and thermal properties of green-emissive carbon nanotube (CNT)–ZnS:Cu, Al phosphor composites. CNTs were coated on the surface of ZnS:Cu, Al phosphor. The CL intensity of ZnS:Cu, Al phosphor coated with optimal CNT concentrations of 0.75 wt.% with respect to the phosphor was about 1.6 times higher than the pure ZnS:Cu, Al phosphor. It is due to the improved electric conductivity resulting in the decrease of charging effect on the phosphor. Also, the quenching temperature of CNT–ZnS:Cu, Al composite is improved from 272 ∘C for the pure ZnS:Cu, Al to 290 ∘C. It can be explained by the increase in the thermal conductivity of the composites.
