Abstract :
Laser Induced Thermoelectric Voltage (LITV) effect was observed for the first time in Pb(Zr0.3Ti0.7)O3(PZT) ferroelectric thin films grown on LaSrAlTaO3(LSATO), LaAlO3(LAO) and SrTiO3(STO) single crystal vicinal cut substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). LITV signals increase linearly with the single-pulse laser energy for c -axis orientated thin film. Such a linear relationship does not hold for a -axis orientated thin film. The result shows that the LITV effect in PZT thin film is originated from the atomic layer thermopile effect, in which anisotropy of Seebeck coefficient plays an important role.
