Abstract :
The structure of aqueous solutions of polymerized (rubber oligomer) and polycondensed (alkyd and alkydepoxide oligomers) film-forming substances that are used as binders for anodic electrodeposition has been studied by conductometric and viscometric methods. A wide concentration range of these polyelectrolytes including concentrations used for electrodeposition has been investigated. The concentration dependencies of specific electric conductivity and kinematic viscosity under a certain solution concentration are characterized by four inflection points for all three oligomers. The availability of four critical micelle concentrations (CMCs) in aqueous solutions of polyelectrolytes is associated with the formation of micelles, the change of their shape, and intermicellar interaction. The micelle formation in solutions of carboxyl-containing film-forming agents has been studied by a differential spectrophotometry method. The solubilizing ability of the systems in question has been estimated.
