Abstract
The occurring of electrostatic interactions during catalyst fixation has been demonstrated using zetametry and streaming induced potential (SIP). Firstly, zetametry permits to determine the sign of the surface charge of the catalyst support in aqueous medium (at a precise pH). Next the SIP allows the calculation of the support surface charge. From these results, it becomes possible then to determine the exact quantity of metallic precursor to be used to saturate the surface of the support. Our hypothesis could be verified by impregnating two supports with palladium solutions (both in acid and basic medium).
