Abstract :
We consider the vibrational dynamics, induced by an intense infrared laser pulse, in an ozone molecule with isotopic substitution, that is,16O16O18O and compare the dynamics in the gas phase and in solid argon. The vibrational dynamics is not perturbed by argon on a time-scale of a few picoseconds and selective bond-breaking in the molecule should be possible following the same laser control scheme as suggested in the gas phase.
