Abstract :
Classical trajectory calculations have been performed for the O + O2 collision at different initial relative translational energies. Several modes of collision have been identified by the close examination of the plot of the number of trajectories on collision duration (τ)-the number of exchanges of the shortest interatomic distance (NESID) plane. The nature of each collision mode is explained in terms of collision dynamics. Also, the collision duration distribution shows peaks contributed by different collision modes.
