Abstract :
The tetrahedral clusters Zn4X (X O, Se) and Cd4X (X S, Se) show efficient photoluminescence at room temperature in the sodalites Zn4X(BO2)6 and Cd4X(AlO2)6, respectively. The lowest absorption band is at higher energy, and the Stokes shift is larger than in other Zn/Cd chalcogenide clusters.
