Abstract :
A time-resolved experiment on the lowest-lying radiative state of barium fluoride has been performed by applying laser resonance methods in the near infra-red wavelength region. The A2Π1/2 state has been examined using a single-mode Ti:sapphire laser. The radiative lifetime obtained for the A2Π1/2 state of the BaF molecule was 56.0±0.9 ns (1σ error-limits).
