A correlation between redox potentials and photophysical behaviour of compounds with intramolecular charge transfer: application to N-substituted 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives

The use of cyclic voltammetric measurements to analyze the donor or acceptor properties of chromophores with diverse substituents, which generate intramolecular charge transfer processes, is proposed as a method which is rapid and comparative with the photophysical study of these derivatives. An application on two groups of N-substituted 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives is presented.
