Abstract :
Activated carbon fiber (ACF) has uniform micropores which can be regarded as graphitic slit spaces. The water adsorption isotherms of ACF with and without preadsorbed NO at 303 K were determined. The characteristic interaction of adsorbed NO with H2O was observed. The desorption of NO during H2O adsorption on the ACF having preadsorbed NO did not proceed only in the P/P0 (H2O) range of 0.2 to 0.6. The presence of a plateau in the NO desorption isotherm was presumed to be ascribable to a stable H2ONO clathrate compound formation in the micropore.
