On the interrelations between charge and mass densities within a double layer

Charge density within the first layer of molecules at a charged Ag electrode immersed in NaF aqueous electrolyte is found. The calculation is based on literature X-ray scattering data revealing an enhanced density of water, mainly due to local electrostriction, in this as well as the next layer.
