Abstract :
Fluorescence intensity decay profiles for a series of phenanthrene labeled polyacrylate samples were collected by the time correlated single photon counting method. The phenanthrene fluorescence is quenched by aromatic ketone segments produced by the initiating benzoyl radicals generated from the photoinitiator 4. The fluorescence quenching data were analyzed with the Fِrster energy transfer model and the Perrin model. The fluorescence quenching data fit both models with a Fِrster energy transfer critical radius of 11.8 إ (R0) and a Perrin quenching sphere radius of 10.4 إ (Rs).
