Abstract :
We have applied the quantum master equation to simulate a two-level system driven by a fractal noise in a dissipative environment. The fractal noise is assumed to be a two-state process with ±Δ and characterized by its correlation function 1/τβ where 0<β<1. Steady state absorption spectrum for the system is obtained analytically for a monochromatic laser excitation. A dramatic blue shift as well as a broadening of the absorption peak, due to the interference between the fractal noise and the natural damping, is observed.
