Abstract :
It is demonstrated that a power law dependence for the second static hyperpolarizability vs. the number of carbon atoms can be obtained for fullerenes, if C60 is excluded. It indicates that C60 has the most exceptional electron localization among fullerenes. Fullerenes are found to have a much smaller nonlinear optical response than one-dimensional conjugated polymers.
