Abstract
For the first time the radiative lifetimes of the metastable excimer 1(3P2) states of heteronuclear rare-gas molecules in the separated atom limit are calculated as functions of the vibrational excitation degree. An increase of the radiative lifetime with increasing vibrational quantum number or gas temperature is predicted. The radiative lifetimes of the quasimolecular states 0+(3P1) and 1(3P1) allowed in the separated atom limit are almost independent of the vibrational excitation degree, and are close to the atomic lifetimes of the 3P1 states.
