Abstract :
The frequency dependence of the nonlinear dielectric effect caused by the Langevin dipolar saturation has been studied for dilute benzene solutions of 4,4′-n-hexylcyanobiphenyl and 4-(trans-4′-n-hexylcyclohexyl)isothiocyanatobenzene. The nonlinear dielectric increment induced by the coupling between the static electric field of high strength (107 V/m) and a field of small intensity and changeable frequency (1 MHz–3 GHz) shows a relaxation which is interpreted by Coffey theory.
