Abstract :
A set of functions is deduced to interpret the kinetic behaviour of growth phenomena occurring at the solid/solution interface by physicochemical interactions between a liquid/gaseous bulk phase and a solid surface. The temporal evolution of the elemental concentration decrease, which describes the disappearance of the chemically active species in the solution, is derived via a discrete recursive map. It formally depends upon the isotherm form controlling the adsorption at the solid/solution interface. Subsequent extension to the actual time domain yields new classes of kinetic laws. Applications of this method with Henry and Langmuir isotherm forms are discussed.
