Abstract :
Time-domain NMR-signals of highly polarized gas phase 83Kr nuclear spins (I = 92) are optically detected by spin exchange with rubidium. Quadrupole frequency shifts and quadrupole relaxation rates due to the interaction of the nuclear spin ensemble with electric field gradients near the glass surface of the sample cell are analyzed. The results for 83Kr quadrupole coupling constants and activation energies at the surface are reported and are compared with previously published results for 131Xe.
