Abstract :
The coupled harmonic oscillator model is applied to pyrrole oligomers. The saturation behaviour of the optical response with the length of the molecules and its dependence on their conformation is found to be in agreement with experimental data. A comparison with the thiophene oligomers and with recently published more elaborate quantum-chemical calculations is presented.
