Abstract :
The laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectrum of FeC in the near infrared region between 720–830 nm has been recorded and analyzed. Twelve electronic transitions have been observed. Transition from the X3Δ1 level was obtained for the first time, which allows the estimation of the spin–orbit coupling constant of the ground state. The spin–orbit separation between the X3Δ2 and the X3Δ3 states was measured to be 329.809 cm−1. Hot band transitions from v=1 level of X3Δ state have also been observed, and the vibrational separation, ΔG1/2, of the X3Δ3 state was measured to be 852.14 cm−1.
