Abstract :
The collisional removal of CD(A2Δ, B2Σ− and C2Σ+) by deuterated ketene has been studied. For several rotational levels of υ=0 of the A2Δ state, rate constants between 2.3 × 10−10 and 3.6 × 10−10 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 are measured; the rate constants show a slightly increasing tendency towards levels with high rotational quantum number. The removal rate obtained for the unresolved rotational levels of A2Δ, υ′ = 2 is similar to that measured for the high rotational levels of υ′ = 0. The total removal rate constants measured for the B2Σ− and C2Σ+ states are 3.6 × 10−10 and 4.8 × 10 −10 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 respectively. For the B2Σ− state the rate constant shows no dependence on vibrational quantum number.
