A pivot algorithm for generating lowest energy structures of peptides

A modified pivot algorithm has been developed for the search of the lowest minima of peptides. The model calculations on terminally blocked tetraalanine (TA) demonstrate the higher efficiency of the proposed method over the conventional genetic algorithms.
