Abstract :
Our previous suggestion for atomic data storage is tested using an improved model. Namely, a carbon nanotube is added to the tip and size of the cluster model used to simulate the surface is expanded. The ONIOM approach makes these tests possible. The tip–surface distances and interaction energies are found to be relatively insensitive to the model used.
