Kinetic exchange and strong ferromagnetic interactions

By using classical ideas to exchange theory we have found that for some specific physical situations kinetic exchange, the second-order effect of virtual electron transfer between magnetic ions, can give rise to strong ferromagnetic interactions. This is in contradiction to earlier belief.
