Abstract
The quantum correction due to the tunneling effect in the Arrhenius relation is discussed for dissociative reactions. The effective potential approach based on Feynmanʹs path integral technique is applied to the Morse interatomic potential systems, which describe dissociation in chemical reaction processes where the effective dissociation energy Deff is temperature-dependent. The numerical calculations improve the results compared with conventional Arrhenius plots.
