Abstract :
q-Deformed harmonic oscillators are used to describe both the stretching and bending vibrational spectrum of a tetrahedral molecule. This model provides a seven-parameter fit to the published experimental vibrational spectrum of methane with a root-mean-square energy deviation 10.12 cm−1.
