Abstract :
We present a study of the H(n=1)+H(n=3) dissociation process in molecular hydrogen occurring after one-photon absorption from various rovibrational levels (v′=19, 20; J′=0, 1) of the B1Σ+u(1sσg)(2pσu) state using (1+1′) resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI). The results provide further evidence for the importance of the excitation of the vibrational continua of singly excited Rydberg states after one-photon absorption from the B state.
