Abstract :
The Sr+Ne complex is studied by laser photodissociation spectroscopy in a reflectron time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Two vibrational progressions and one continuum band are observed in the energy region between 23400 and 25250 cm−1. The two progressions correspond to transitions from the X2Σ12 electronic ground state to the excited A2П12 and A2П32 spin-orbit states, while the continuum is attributed to transitions from X2Σ12 to the repulsive part of the B2Σ12 excited state. From isotope-resolved measurements we assign the observed vibrational progressions and thus obtain the potential curves of the electronic states involved.
