Abstract :
Experimental evidence is reported on bound multiphonon states in crystal N2O. In the region of 3ω3 (⋍ 6600–6800 cm−1) and ω1 + ω2 + ω3 (⋍ 4050–4200 cm−) vibrational transitions, excitations corresponding to free and localized phonon states are observed. Renormalized phonon densities are calculated in agreement with experimental data.
