Abstract :
A vibrational analysis with tentative bands assignment of the high resolution fluorescence and fluorescence excitation spectra of hypericin in ethanol at 4.2 K is presented. Specrral evidences of the intramolecular hydrogen bonds are given. The phosphorescence spectrum of hypericin in ethanol at 77 K has been recorded and the following main parameters of the triplet state were measured: ET1 = 13250 cm−1 and τT1 = 7.2 × 10−4 s.
