Abstract :
The changes in strength of local electric fields at bromine atoms in the BrCH2R series of compounds have been determined from a hyperbolic equation of the relationship between the 79Br NQR frequency and its derivative with respect to electric field strength. The full range of electron-acceptor and electron-donor substituents is shown to be described by the same equations with different parameters.
