Abstract :
A spatial and frequency grating is engraved in a hole-burning material at 1.8 K by two spectrally broad pulses issued from the same incoherent laser source. A scanned monochromatic beam is diffracted by the engraved spatial-frequency grating. A theoretical approach of the analysis of the spectral distribution of the diffracted beam is presented, from which information on the electron-phonon coupling or the wavelength dependence of the hole-burning efficiency can be deduced.
