Abstract
We have used a Raman imaging process in a hyperspectral configuration in order to recover the Raman signal of dimetallofullerene peapods, Ti2@C80@SWNTs. We report on the strong anisotropy observed for the absorption of the excitation light by the peapods. The peapod behaves like an antenna. This effect is intense in peapods because of the uni-dimensional structure related to the alignment of the peas in the pods. The peapod spectrum is dominated by a low-frequency sharp and thin line, and a group of three strong lines in the intermediate frequency range.
