Diffraction spectrum of twinned domains: determination of domain wall width in YBa2Cu3O7−δ

The diffraction lineshape derived by Taylor and Swainson for twinned domains with a tanh strain dependence through the domain wall is tested by fitting to the X-ray data of Chrosch and Salje for twinned YBa2Cu3O7−δ. The good fits obtained support the validity of the model, and imply a domain wall width of only 1.6 nm.
