Abstract
MnCO3 (rhodochrosite) was found to dissociate into hausmannite (Mn3O4)+graphite+O2 at 60–80 kbar and at temperatures greater than 2000°C. When the pressure was raised to 120 kbar and above, graphite in the above reaction was replaced by diamond.
