Abstract :
The results show that the high molecular weight hydrolyzed polyacrylamide is an effective dispersant for the decrease of viscosity and improvement of stability for the investigated suspensions with barium acetate concentration of 0.98 mol/l. The optimum order of material addition is that the electrolyte is added to the TiO2-HPAM suspensions. The mechanism of stability is rationalized by the compact polymer coils formed under high ionic strength.
