Abstract
Sheet-like CdS nano-crystal has been prepared successfully using the liquid crystal template formed in organophosphinic acid extractant (Cyanex272 or Cyanex302)–hexane–NaOH aqueous solution systems. To fairly copy the lamellar structure of the liquid crystal, it is very important to optimize the experiment conditions especially in the procedure of template preparation. The amount of Cd2+ added should be appropriate to avoid the liquid crystal structure being damaged, and the formation of well controlled sheet-like CdS nano-crystal prefers a thinner water layer.
