Abstract :
The juxtaposition of the characteristic properties of thinning foam films and the surface-tension curves peculiarities has shown that the drainage time results are in close relationship to the respective peculiarities of the adsorption isotherms. It is established that the drainage time of the films goes up in a stepwise manner at the increase of the amphiphile quantity. The climb occurs at the same surfactant concentrations where the onset of the kink regions in the surface-tension curves is observed. This synchronized behavior is interpreted as being due the existence of bulk and interface surfactant assemblies in the initial amphiphilic solutions. The reported results are viewed as further experimental evidence for the effect of self-assembled structures on the time evolution of foam films.
