Abstract :
The interfacial electrochemistry properties of SDS/n-C5H11OH/H2O system and the influence of malachite green on these properties have been studied by voltammetry without any probe and capacitance measurements. The results show that at the weight ratio of n-C5H11OH/H2O = 50/50, with the increase of the total concentration of SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) in the system, the structure of the upper phase is always W/O (water/oil), while that of the lower phase turns from O/W (oil/water) to bi-continuous structure (BI) when the total concentration of SDS attains 3%, which makes the increase of the interfacial potential ΔE apparently slow down at that concentration. At the constant concentration of SDS, the second oxidant peak potential and peak current of SDS in both the upper and lower phases, the interfacial capacitance and interfacial charge transfer current of the system, all increase with the content of the malachite green, while the interfacial potential and interfacial resistance of the system decrease.
