Abstract :
Nucleophilic substitution reaction of benzyl chloride (BnCl) and KBr in (EO)27(PO)61(EO)27 (P104)/H2O/p-xylene/CO2 microemulsion was performed at 40.0 °C. The yield was much higher than that without microemulsion, and hydrolysis reaction of BnCl did not occur, indicating that the CO2-induced microemulsion is an effective medium for the reaction.
