Observation of higher magnetization on the substitution of Al for Co in La2MnCoO6

Upon substitution of non-magnetic Al3+ for diamagnetic, low-spin, Co3+ in ferromagnetic La2MnCoO6, the ferromagnetic moment, measured at 82 K and 15 kOe, is found to increase initially with Al content and then decreases, though the magnetic transition temperature decreases continuously on increasing x in La2MnCo1−xAlxO6.
